TC Lounge, Sydney

Wynyard Station, Sydney
Reviewers present: Blogs and The Bot
Time of review: After work quickie

Nice simple selection of tap beers with a bunch of bottled beer in the fridge

"News just in - price jackpot!"

(The old rating: 1.5 rubber chickens watching the news and drinking cheap beer)

TC Lounge is definitely not a pub (in fact, you can barely call it a bar) so why are we including it here, you ask? One simple answer - CHEAP BOOZE.

TC's (TC being short for Treasure Cove) is a hole in the wall at Wynyard Station. A quick stop off on the way to the train for gambling addicts to throw a buck in before they arrive home to the unsuspecting family. It's a bit sad really, and we probably shouldn't be celebrating but here it is - Wynyard gambling addicts are providing a cheap booze haven for us pub reviewers.

The hole in the wall

You can't eat here and you probably wouldn't want to. Potato chips only. Upstairs on the station entrance level there are a bunch of ding-ding machines going all day for the slot-machine addicts, while downstairs is more of an tiny airport lounge with a "bar" and well priced drinks to sip while watching the news channel playing on the tele.

Only four beers on tap here, and from what we can gather, all the same low price- $4.10 a schooner! Here we have Heineken, Tooheys New, Hahn Superdry, and Boags Draught. "This place doesn't need Carlton Draught," Burger Bot chimes in. Our powers of deduction lead us to believe that spirits are $5.50 and red wine $4.50.

So, we're not saying it's a pub, it's a booze haven. A quick and cheap, a little bit nasty stop off on the way home or on the way out on a night out fantastic piano. We could image a group meat here after work for some cheep starters before moving out onwards out to all the usual haunts.

If that last paragraph doesn't make any sense it's because this place doesn't and I'm so excited.

1 and a half rubber chickens FOR VALUE!

    1. Personal opinion, I guess. Boags Draught does just fine.
